Interested in being part of the solution to the regional housing crisis? Your property might be a great place to start.   

The Upper Valley needs hundreds of new affordable houses and apartments. Many of these new units can be built by converting part of or adding on to existing homes or placing another home on the lot. These Accessory Dwelling Units or “ADUs” can fit in with our neighborhoods, create income for owners, enable accessible living spaces for seniors, provide places for needed workers to live, increase economic activity in the area, help keep school enrollment steady, and save on energy. 

Want to learn how to build an accessory dwelling unit on your property? Come to the Hartford Area Career and Technical Center on Saturday, May 6. The 2023 Home Creators Expo will feature builders, financial experts, home manufacturers, permitting professionals, and more! All are available to answer your questions. Come learn how investing in your property can increase affordable housing units in our communities. 

This event is also great for people who might want to rent an ADU - or anyone curious about what this form of housing has to offer our communities!
