    The Vermont Department of Labor has Veteran Services aimed to help Veterans secure employment 


    The Registered Apprenticeship Program is a training program designed to provide individuals with hands-on experience and on-the-job training in the specific industry of their choosing 


    Vermont's Refugee and Immigrant Employment Support is an initiative targeted at providing free employment resources (e.g. resume development, training programs, job search assistance, etc.) and other supports (e.g. transportation support, new certifications, health/medical exams, translation services, etc.)

    The Vermont Professionals of Color Network helps BIPOC community members succeed professionally

    The initiative Meet Up Upper Valley offers events such as paint-and-sip nights at local pubs, hands-on workshops, hiking trips, and seasonal bus tours to NYC to foster meaningful connections with neighbors while supporting local businesses

  • Education & Changing Careers Resources

    The Upper Valley Educators Institute (UVEI) focuses on preparing educators for leadership roles in schools 


    The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Dartmouth offers educational programs for adults 


    In addition to job listings, the NH Works Office offers education and training resources at no or minimal cost. 


    Vermont Adult Learning provides tutoring (in basic reading, writing, math), GED preparation, English as a second language, bridge to college, and life skills programs 


    The  Hartford Area Career and Technology Center offers hands-on work, career, and life/community enrichment training classes in manufacturing, construction, agriculture, transportation, business, and health career industry sectors 


    The River Valley Technical Center offers both day and night courses in industrial trades, culinary arts, carpentry, business management, and more 


    The Community College of Vermont provides affordable and flexible higher education to Vermonters   


    River valley Community College is a small, rural community college in Claremont and is the only institution in the state to offer Allied Health and Health Science programs 


    Vermont Technical College (now part of Vermont State University) offers programs in electrical and plumbing apprenticeship, manufacturing, healthcare, and more 


    The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Workforce Readiness Institute offers several programs to train individuals for medical professions such as Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Nurse Assistant, and more 


    The Hypertherm Technical Training Institute (HTTI) program takes newly hired machine operators and immerses them in nine weeks of paid training. Program graduates receive 22.5 college credits, are enrolled in a United States Department of Labor registered apprenticeship, and begin work in one of Hypertherm’s manufacturing facilities   

  • Childcare Resources

    The Treehouse Children's School is a child care center in Norwich with 2-5 day program serving ages 6 weeks-6 years and after school care for Kindergarten through Sixth Grade 


    The Children's Center of the Upper Valley provides high quality childcare for working families in the Upper Valley, serving ages 6 weeks-kindergarten from 6:30am-6pm Mon-Fri  


    The Creative Spirit Children’s Center offers care for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age, with Infant, Toddler, Preschool, after school and a Summer Seeker programs 


    The Hanover Nursery School offers programs Sept-Jun for ages 3-5 


    The Hartland Cooperative Nursery School offers program for ages 3 & 4 year olds (2 day program for 3year olds & 3 day program for 4 year olds) serving Windsor and Sullivan County families 


    The Lyme Nursery School offer a Bears program for 3 year olds and a Lion’s program for 4 year olds  


    The Woodstock Nursery School offers programs for 3 and 4 year olds fostering positive attitudes, good relationships, social behavior and self discipline

    Housing Solutions also has a list of hotels in Hanover, Lebanon, Norwich, and White River Junction  


    Quechee Lakes Rentals has rentals for both short and longer vacations in Quechee Lakes 

  • Emergency Housing

    The Upper Valley Haven provides temporary shelter and housing for people or families experiencing homelessness 


    Call Southwestern Community Services at 603-542-3160 regarding their Claremont shelter 


    The Lebanon Winter Shelter (160 Mechanic Street, Lebanon NH) is open nightly, providing shelter during cold weather months 


    WISE is a nonprofit servicing the Upper Valley focused on helping victims and survivors of Domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, and more. One of the supports they offer is temporary housing in their Safe Home. 


    The City of Lebanon Human Services aims to relieve and maintain those in our community who are economically disadvantaged and unable to sustain the basic needs of food, shelter, and emergency medical assistance

  • Weatherization & Home Repair Resources

    The Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development offers a Weather Assistance Program that can help eligible applicants make about $10,000 worth of improvements per home, add about 1500 square feet of insulation, and reduce drafts by about 40% 


    The Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development also offers an Energy Assistance Program that offers a discount on the monthly electric bill from 8% to 86% based on gross household income and household size 


    The Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development also offers an Fuel Assistance Program that helps eligible applicants pay part of their home heating bills. 


    Cover Home Repair is a local nonprofit that aims to build community by collaborating with volunteers and homeowners to improve homes and by promoting the sustainable reuse of donated goods. They provide home repairs, weatherization, and a Cover Repair Store. 


    Tri-County CAP's Weatherization Program provides an assessment of the household's energy efficiency to identify ways to improve efficiency and save costs related to heating, cooling, electricity, hot water, etc. Assistance is provided to income-eligible households in implementing improvements that will increase energy efficiency and reduce costs

  • Landlord & Developer Resources

    Check out Vital Community’s Upper Valley Landlord and Service Provider Network, which aims to promote networking among landlords and the nonprofit service providers whose programs support property owners and tenants  


    Vermont’s Agency of Commerce and Community Development has created a Homes for All Toolkit aims to help up and coming developers build more accessible housing in Vermont  


    The Vermont Landlord Association serves residential and commercial landlords in Vermont, offering various resources such as landlord-tenant mediation, rental property listings, and management advice. 


    Vermont State Housing Authority’s Landlord Relief Program provides incentives and security to landlords who house Vermonters receiving rental assistance or experiencing homelessness. It offers reimbursement for expenses like holding a unit for a tenant, vacancy loss due to repairs, qualifying tenant damages, and early lease termination 


    The Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development runs a Vermont Housing Improvement Program (VHIP) that offers grants and loans to property owners for creating affordable rental units 


      The Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development also runs a Vermont Community Development Program (VCDP) that offers financial and technical assistance to communities for addressing local needs, including housing.
